Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem
Prof. Muhammad Saleem, Professor of Pediatric Surgery and Dean Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Farooq Hospital/Akhtar Saeed Medical & Dental College, is one of the most senior pediatric surgeons in Pakistan. He has an experience of 33 years in the field of pediatric surgery, out of which he has served more than 23 years in the Health Department of Punjab as Professor of Pediatric Surgery, Dean Faculty of Surgery, Medical Director, and Pro-Vice Chancellor at The Children’s Hospital & University of Child Health Sciences Lahore. He has developed multiple Pediatric surgery wards throughout his career in the province of Punjab. He successfully separated two sets of conjoined twin at the Children’s Lahore. In recognition of his services, the Government of Punjab promoted him to grade 21 on meritorious grounds.
Prof. Muhammad Saleem did MBBS from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College in 1985 and FCPS in Paediatric Surgery from CPSP Karachi in 1995. He got his Diploma In Pediatric Nutrition in 2016 from USA. He has also done Masters in Medical Education (MME-HPE) from The University of Lahore in 2017. In 2021, he was awarded an honorary degree of FACS from USA in recognition of his services as a Pediatric Surgeon.
He has 111 National, and International original publications to his name. He has presented more than 100 research papers at different national & international conferences. He has trained a large number of pediatric surgeons in Pakistan in his capacity as supervisor for FCPS and MS Pediatric Surgery. His trainees are now working as consultants through out the country and abroad. He served as president Association of Pediatric Surgery Pakistan (APSP) and Dean Faculty of Pediatric Surgery at CPSP Karachi. He is executive member of World Federation Association of Pediatric Surgery (WOFAPS) from Asia and Oceania. He has received Lifetime Achievement Award, twice, from APSP, and Quaid-e-Azam Gold Medal Award from Tehreek-e-Istehkam-e-Pakistan Council (Reg) Pakistan.
Currently, Prof. Muhammad Saleem is providing pediatric surgical services at Farooq Hospital, West Wood as Professor of Pediatric Surgery. His specialties include Hepatobiliary Surgery, Minimal Invasive Surgery, Anorectal Malformation, Disorder Of Sexual Differentiation, Cleft lip/palate Surgeries, Pediatric Surgical Oncology and Esophageal Replacement. Additionally, he overlooks the undergraduate studies of clinical sciences of graduates of Akhter Saeed Medical & Dental College in his capacity as Dean Faculty of Clinical Sciences.
